Why We Gather
When we gather in community, we steward connection and belonging. In this way, we support the well-being and health of the Village. Serving as a found community, however temporary, we create inclusive, compassionate, and brave spaces. All sorrows and joys are held with care when sacred and science weave.
Wisdom Practice
Developed within the safety of community, a wisdom practice is a collection of repeated, intentional ways of being that hold us when we are together and steady us when we are apart. As Sophy Banks explains, healthy cultures offer “return paths”. When overwhelming situations happen, return paths enable us to receive support, to metabolize our experiences and “return to a grounded state of trust in self, others and life.”
Understanding personal and collective return paths as steadying practices is the ground we stand on at Groundwater Collective. A wisdom practice helps us develop and integrate insight into how we live, relate, and respond in the living world.
A personal wisdom practice promises each of us more than an individual routine or habit, though we may start exactly there. It leads us to kinship, community, and sense-making as a way of being. It is about being safely held and nourished as we make space to turn inward for well-being. Along the way, Mother Earth provides the gentle love that connects and holds us.
Path
A path, is a day-long journey for exploring well-being practices in nature, calling in the elements, and tending to your inner landscape.
In these workshops you will gain a deeper appreciation for the circle way through experience. We will practice our practice, opening ourselves to spaciousness.
Wisdom Circle
An experience rather than an event, when we gather in a Wisdom Circle, we accept the invitation to explore how we steady ourselves when the wind is heavy or life’s fires rage.
In circle, we explore connections that build resilience in creative, physical, spiritual, and relational ways. We return often knowing that we are tending to something significant for each of us and our community.
With Groundwater Collective’s gentle facilitation, we explore the spaces within us, between us and all around us in partnership with Mother Earth.
Spiral
A spiral, is a day-long journey that weaves education and experience into a rich tapestry, grounding your well-being practice. Ideal for the curious seeker who requires scientific evidence before their mind can let go and allow their body to engage fully.
Weaving science and sacred throughout the activities participants will gain confidence to listen to their body and develop a deeper awareness of coregulating with Mother Earth.
